Frequently asked questions
Will free features ever become paid?
No. Never. Everything that is free today stays free forever. Premium brings new capabilities (sync, breach monitoring) — it doesn't take away existing ones.
Do I need to register for the free plan?
No. Geslar requires no registration, email or account. Install the extension, set a master key and use it. Registration is only needed for Premium (cloud sync).
When is Premium coming?
Cloud sync is available with a Premium subscription. Other Premium features (breach monitoring, emergency access) are rolling out gradually. We'll announce public self-serve checkout on the News page.
How is Geslar funded?
Geslar is developed by Geslar d.o.o. Core features are free forever, and development is sustainably funded by Premium and Family subscriptions (cloud sync, breach monitoring, shared vault). No ads, no data selling.
What happens if I cancel Premium?
All your records stay locally on the device — nothing is deleted. Cloud sync pauses, but free features work normally. Gradual return to the free plan, no penalty.
Does Geslar collect my data?
No. Geslar does not use analytics, cookies or tracking. The only external communication is anonymous breach checking via HaveIBeenPwned (k-Anonymity). Your passwords never leave your device.
What is Geslar Ključar?
Geslar Ključar is a separate mobile app for authentication codes — TOTP (Android + iOS). Free for local use with AES-256-GCM encryption, 7 importers and biometric unlock. Ključar's cross-device sync is still coming (soon) — it is separate from Škrinjar sync, which is already available with Premium.
