What Premium sync is
Premium includes cloud sync of your vault — your entries available on all your devices. Everything is end-to-end encrypted: the server stores only an encrypted blob and never sees the contents.
By default Škrinjar runs locally. Sync is your choice — you enable it with Premium.
1. Create an account
Sync requires an account (email only). Purchase and sign-in happen in Škrinjar on the web (my.geslar.app) or in the extension: Cloud → Sign in / Register.
- Enter your email and confirm it via the verification link.
- Activate Premium (or try it first — full refund within 14 days).
2. Set your master password
The master password is the only one you remember. Your encryption key is derived from it on your device — the server never sees it.
- Set a strong master password (we recommend a passphrase of 4+ words).
- Use the same master password on all devices to unlock the vault.

3. Save your recovery key
When you enable sync a recovery key is generated — the only way to regain access if you forget your master password. Geslar cannot recover it.
- Store the recovery key somewhere safe (print or offline storage).
- Do not share it or keep it next to your master password.
4. Sync your devices
- On each device install Škrinjar and sign in with the same email and master password.
- The vault syncs automatically — changes are encrypted before upload.
- Restoring the vault from the cloud shows progress; wait for it to finish.
Cancelling the subscription does not delete local data — sync simply pauses.
